The August District PD Day has been developed to allow for individualized growth and interest. We will start the day with a keynote speaker and then follow with 5 sessions. Teachers can choose which sessions they would like to join throughout the day. The day will also include a time for an informal district PLC with individuals in similar roles across the district. We hope this is a refreshing opportunity to learn, reconnect with colleagues, and develop new relationships and ideas to carry into the next school year.

In this engaging keynote, Dr. Jeb Schenck will begin with common myths and fictional "facts" in an interaction introduction.  He will share key findings in the cycle of growth and teaching including where learning takes place, the under-rated importance of the environment, you are your history, a thought experiment (intentionally creating an environment), attention systems, path to memory, emotions and patterns, working memory, and use it or lose it (pruning and then growing a memory).
